April 2016 Celestial Happenings

Posted by on Mar 31, 2016

Welcome to the Celestial Events blog for April 2016. Let me begin by wishing all the Aries folks a happy birthday! It is officially Spring 2016–time to get moving on your important goals for the year. As I have mentioned previously, this is likely to be a year where your crops don’t show up early. Because of a number of retrogrades–more on that in a moment, you’re more likely to see big outcomes in the Fall and Winter of 2016. And don’t forget the eclipses we had in March. The eclipse energy will be with us until September when the next crop of eclipses occur  If you’d like to learn more about what makes your Aries pals tick, click here to see my article on Aries powerhouse Reese Witherspoon’s birth chart. Now, on with the show! Aprils’ really big news is that we have two new retrogrades starting this month. And speaking of Aries natives + retrogrades, Mars (the ruling planet for Aries) stations retrograde 17 April and then returns to direct motion 23 June 2016. Fast forward motion on your...

Hitting the Bullseye of Business Success

Posted by on Oct 9, 2015

Fall is the time of harvest for the farmer. He planted his crop in the Spring and now comes the time when he must determine if his efforts have yielded a sufficient crop to see him and his family through the coming winter months. The same is pretty much true for the business owner. As we move into the latter part of Fall and into Winter, the holiday season begins and there are far more distractions for us to counter and move through as we approach the new year. In all honesty, there are a number of things that can block success and one of the first that comes to mind is mastery of your chosen field, plus the ins and outs of online business. Malcolm Gladwell says in his book Outliers that it can take as much as 10,000 hours (or roughly 10 years) working in your chosen endeavor to achieve mastery and success. There are ways around that–I will share more about those in a moment, but for now I just want you to know that if you aren’t...

Creative Geniuses Angi Sullins and Silas Toball

Posted by on Jul 22, 2015

http://www.deemorrison.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Angi-Silas.mp3   Somewhere over the rainbow, that’s where you will find creative geniuses Angi Sullins and her hubby Silas Toball. I came across them and their work in 2007 thanks to a magical video piece of work they launched out in the world called A Knock At the Door. It was a lovely video designed to inspire hope for those who had fallen on challenging times and was just the thing to lift my hopes from what I was experiencing at the time. Angi is an author and artistic talent representative and says ‘she lives in the world of enchantment’. She conjured a lovely online site called Duirwaigh Studios where she represented some of the best talent on Earth as well as the book Doorways and Dreamfields. She is currently offering events that inspire and uplift creatives and other magical types to fulfill their dreams–while they visit little pieces of heaven here on earth, such as beautiful sites in France, India, and Japan. Silas is an artist and a musician and met the lovely Angi at a Cirque du Soleil...

Neptune, Drugs and Stardom

Posted by on Jan 2, 2016

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole. Jimmy Hendrix and Amy Winehouse are just a few of the people who share the dubious honor of being a celebrity who came to a tragic end.  They are all on the list of celebrities who lost their lives to drugs and or alcohol. What’s up with that?! Neptune, ruler of Pisces (drugs, art, music, photography, self-undoing, dance) is often at the root of the problem. Both Ms. Winehouse and Ms. Cole had Neptune conjoining their natal Moons. Ms. Cole’s Moon in Libra conjoined Neptune in her second house of values and that which she loved. Growing up as Nat King Cole’s daughter, the love of music was part of her upbringing. As she came into her own as an adult, she proved she had an amazing voice of her own, but drugs quickly became a part of her lifestyle and no doubt contributed to her death at an early 65 years of age. Michael Jackson was arguably one of the best performers of his time–vying for top honors with his purpleness, Prince. His...

Business Journeys

The challenge of developing a successful business begins in the moment that you decide you want to leave the security of traditional employment and branch out on your own.  It’s wonderful if you have a complete vision, but I find with many of the people I coach that while the talents and possibilities for a business exist, the clear vision for the business does not–and that’s okay.  Be prepared for your vision to evolve as you move through your experience. Problems can occur when the budding entrepreneur anticipates quick success (this can happen with the seasoned entrepreneur as well).   Also note I said quick, not quick and easy.  There isn’t a guarantee of success when you gather your tools, build a website and hang up your shingle, so it’s especially helpful if you pick something that you love.  It’s also unlikely that your experience will be easy.  And if you can’t love the thing itself that you’re launching it is probably best that you at least love those whom you will be serving.  Need I say that if you’re in it for the money alone, and it is a people oriented business, you will be setting yourself up for a bumpy ride. All that having been said, there are examples of hard nosed business men like Donald Trump who would hardly be thought of as a warm and fuzzy entrepreneurs–and they seem to just go from one success to the next.  In my case, I work with people who are healers, coaches, intuitives and the like, so there is a desire to be of service and to make a positive difference in the lives of others–no hard nosed business folks among them (thank goodness).  If you don’t love the niche you’re working in, or are burned out from a previous career–you might want to look at real estate investment or working with the stock market–something where nerves of steel, not warm and fuzzy traits are needed.  The one proviso for the hard-nosed entrepreneurial journey is that often these businesses require money or partners with money, but what if that isn’t the case for you?  If you’re not financial flush, and entrepreneurs often aren’t, are...

Business Sharks, Saints And Success

Business Sharks, Saints And Success

Mar 18, 2013

Greetings Friends! I tend to think there are two kinds of people in the world, people who stay within the lines (after all, the lines are our friends) and those who seek freedom.  The latter group plays host to, among other occupations, those who suit up for self owned businesses.  Being an entrepreneur can be a huge challenge to our ego though since it’s an unpredictable journey and most of us experience discomfort when we can’t pin down when or even if we will be successful in our efforts. Let’s just say right off the bat that you should probably fasten your seat belt since success rarely happens overnight.  There is a steep learning curve to building a successful business, especially since there are so many voices in the market place now offering to assist you in taking your businesses to six or seven figures.  Let’s be honest–many of us would be happen to make any money at all, let alone six figures.  It can take years to achieve that often touted, but extremely elusive six figure success range.  So hopefully you have committed to be in it to win it rather than quitting if you don’t achieve easy (read fast) success. I’ve noted that among the business owners I personally know or coach, some don’t seem to even realize they are in business and look for someone who has a store front or some other arrangement to carry the burden of marketing expertise.  The challenge here is that you’re indebted to someone else (who has their own interests at the forefront of all they do) and you don’t get to call your own shots.  It’s fine to start with, but I really hope to see more business owners–especially women, take  control of the reins in their businesses.  The employment world or the half-entrepreneur, half employee (i.e. contract worker) world caps your earnings, limits your freedom and creates an unhealthy dependence over time.  Educate yourself, learn to market your skills and make steps toward becoming an independent business owner, because in the long run your security is your responsibility. Another group within the entrepreneurial world I like to call the saints; they love people...

Business Systems, Organization & Success

I hate tax time, what about you?  I’m also not the most organized person on the planet–at least not naturally.  I have found that it’s absolutely necessary for me to have systems for the things I need to do in my business–especially for the things I don’t like doing.  I’ve already written about how important your tax prep is going to be for 2012; if you missed that blog, you can catch it here.  Take the time to get yourself set up for success from the start and save yourself the hassle of getting caught unprepared. If you’re like me, you may want to procrastinate, especially on tasks that aren’t familiar, are intimidating or boring–this is where systems can be a big help.  If I know I’m likely to toss my receipts in an odd place, that’s an area where I must develop some simple systems in order to avert catastrophe at a later date. Some systems you’ll want to have in place for your business include: Know what projects you’re launching in the next 30-60 days.  Work far enough out that you don’t have to sweat bullets over a promised launch date.   Keep a project calendar for product/program launches as well as for your blog. Hire out the low priority tasks so that you’re focused on money making activities.  You say you can’t afford a VA?  Hire your son or daughter or a college student and be very precise about what you want done, when it is due and the level of quality you expect. Deal early with the things that irritate you (like planning for tax season) and file things appropriately.  You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches in the long run. Scan the web for hot tips on system development like the video above; it can save you time and energy to learn from someone else and cost very little! Make plans early in the game for when you want to bring on an assistant.  Keep your focus on the money making activities in your business and let those things that aren’t your expertise be taken care of by your team–even if it’s just you an assistant. The business...

Astrology Predictions for 3-9 March 2013

Astrology Predictions for 3-9 March 2013

Mar 1, 2013

Greetings Friends! We begin this first week of March 2013 with a void of course Moon in Scorpio, but in rather short order we switch gears to an outgoing, yet waning Sagittarian Moon.  This week we do a final tally on our win/loss ratios when the Last Quarter Moon checks in and then we get our career ducks in order when the Moon switches gear into Capricorn near mid-week.  All in all, this isn’t going to be a week for loafers, so prepare to bring your game face to work and you’ll be good to go (Note:  all times indicated in this blog are PST). Sunday 3 March 2013 (1 Star):  An insomnia inducing, early morning Moon-Mars trine at 1:19 AM is nothing to get excited about–especially if you’re on Pacific Standard Time.  Remember to get out the melatonin and lavender before bed Saturday night; the Moon is void of course after that last aspect until 1:11 PM when it enters Sagittarius.  Dealings with people at a distance, publishing concerns, legal situations or college studies are up for review during the next couple of days–maybe even some long distance travel if you’re lucky! Moon square Neptune at 6:42 PM makes us prone to delusional or unclear thinking; combine this energy with Mercury being retrograde and it’s a good idea to avoid making decisions or signing agreements until a later date. Moon in Sagittarius colors:  Mauve, black, royal blue, gold, indigo or turquoise.  Crystals:  Lapis lazuli, amethyst, malachite, sugilite, obsidian, turquoise or zircon.  Incense/Essential oils:  Copal, frankincense, sandalwood, rosemary or dragon’s blood. Monday 4 March 2013 (2 Stars):  Although we have a gaggle of aspects today, only two are remotely helpful–well make that one.  The Moon trine Uranus at 1:19 AM is another insomnia inducing challenge, bringing shocks and unwelcome, early morning surprises home to roost (hope you didn’t put the lavender or melatonin away just yet).  Money and love worries may interfere with a peaceful night’s sleep thanks to a Moon-Venus square at 2:45 AM and we may have overshot our budget (or just shot off our mouth) when the Moon opposes Jupiter at 3:00 AM; either way, chicks of all sorts may be...

April 2016 Celestial Happenings

April 2016 Celestial Happenings

Mar 31, 2016

Fast forward motion on your projects is unlikely to take place now (we’ve been Mars’ retrograde shadow for awhile) and remember that Mars will not leave its retrograde shadow until 22 August. Aries natives will feel the brunt of this the most, but to be honest, all of us are in the soup. Intimate partnerships, action oriented projects and things that require speed are iffy at best. You will know what to pursue and who or what to drop by late August when Mars finally quits its retrograde shadow. Ironically, the two traditional rulers of Scorpio (Mars and Pluto) both station retrograde this month, with Pluto beginning its long retrograde the 18th of April. Plans that include dealing with powerful people, estates, or a will might be better put off until at least 26 September when Pluto returns to direction motion. Note, Pluto will not escape its retrograde shadow until after the start of 2017. This may be a frustrating experience for Scorpio natives. Plot your moves for world domination through the remainder of 2016; be ready to launch in 2017. Note too that Saturn and Jupiter remain...

Hello March 2016!

Hello March 2016!

Feb 27, 2016

Welcome to my list of Sacred dates and facts for March 2016. Let me just begin by saying Happy Birthday to all the Pisces natives out there. The Sun in Pisces puts our focus on the more hidden aspects of life—spirituality, creativity—especially art, music, dance and movies. But it can also speak to the hidden aspects within ourselves that bring us down, such as addictions, self-undoing type behaviors and even hidden enemies… Aside from this being the month when Spring is sprung, the really big news of the month are the eclipses–one in Pisces and one in Libra. The Pisces Solar Eclipse/New Moon may bring new opportunities. So this Spring be on the lookout for opportunities that may be hidden in some way. If you’re working behind the scenes on that script, art project or other hidden creative project, then this eclipse may give you the support you need to achieve success. The flip side of the coin is a Full Moon/Lunar eclipse in Libra on the 23rd of March–which may, unfortunately, signal the end of a partnership of some kind. We can see endings as tragic or we can choose to let people, situations/things go to make space for even better opportunities that enhance our life. As someone who lost a job last year, I can attest to it being important to keep your attitude on as even a keel as you can! Capricorns may already feel the energy of a soon to arrive Saturn retrograde. Capricorns tend to have a do or die, get ‘er done type attitude anyway, what with their sign ruler Saturn being retrograde half of the year (sheesh, how do you get anything done!?). This month Saturn stations retrograde on March 25th (and stations direct 13 August) while Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, continues his ongoing retrograde streak. How do we get around these energetic log jams? Meditation. Lots and lots of meditation! Got burning personal questions that astrology or a Tarot/Lenormand reading might help with? You can always schedule a chat with me here. And so, until I visit with you in April, take it easy and enjoy your journey.   March 2016 Astrological Events Last Quarter Moon; 1...

February 2016

February 2016

Jan 30, 2016

Welcome to my list of important astrological dates for February 2016. While February is a short month, you will want to keep your eyes open for a couple of important matters. First, Mercury clears its retrograde shadow 14 February—just in time for our annual celebration of love and Eros—yay! The not so great news is that on the 17th of February, Mars enters a retrograde shadow and will be in full blown retrograde mode 18 April 2016. Mars will return to direct motion 23 June 2016 and end its retrograde shadow 24 August. As you can probably see, this is a year where you might want to slowly, patiently build your goals with the understanding you may not see much for your hard work until the Fall. Note too that Jupiter is continuing its retrograde and will go direct May 10th 2016 and leave its retrograde shadow 6 August 2016 (great news for Sagittarians everywhere). I would love to know if you find this abbreviated blog helpful, how you use it, etc., as I look for ways to serve you despite my super tight schedule these days. Do leave a comment below and let me know what works for you.  (Need a private consultation, please click here). And with that, I will leave you with February’s important astrological dates; may love find you happy and well as I bid you goodbye till the first of March 2016. Here Comes Mercury Retrograde

Here Comes Mercury Retrograde

Jan 2, 2016

Happy New Year! I trust that your holidays were filled with fun and joy and now you’re ready to get back in the saddle (ready or not, here it comes)! The New Year is already underway and you are probably groaning at the thought of returning to work/school. Well, before we go much farther there are a few things I’d like to share with you. First, the format for this blog will be monthly probably for the first quarter of the year. My schedule is booked so tight it can’t be helped, but if you’d like to read with me and get a handle on your personal situation, you can book with me here. We have a pending Mercury retrograde arriving 5 January 2015. Now is the time to have your car scheduled for maintenance and also back up your computer since the retrograde is all but here. Pay close attention to career matters (or whatever life concern Capricorn rules in your personal chart). The latter portion of the retrograde shadow ends 15 February 2016 and by then you can decide what, if any changes you need to make in 2016–at least as far as your career is concerned. You may already see some career wonkiness since we are already in the shadow period. Note that we also have a Mars retrograde and second Mercury retrograde kicking off in April. Bottom line is I would forestall launching major projects until the Fall, if at all possible. This is the year of the retrograde and with Mars stalling our energy until August and four Mercury retrogrades total (January, April, August and December), it is rather a challenging year for launching anything new. Your best bet? Plan carefully and if you need personal input for a marriage, start of a project/business, etc., then click here for personal planning. Now, here are the big astrological happenings for January 2016: Last Quarter Moon in Libra 1 January 2016 at 9:30 PM PST Mercury stations retrograde 5 January 2016 at 5:06 AM PST New Moon in Capricorn (19 degrees and13 minutes) 9 January 2016 at 5:30 PM PST First Quarter Moon (26 degrees and 16 minutes of Aries) 16...

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays

Nov 27, 2015

It isn’t often that you pop onto my site and find yourself greeted by the words Happy Holidays, is it? Well, this has been an altogether different year than I had hoped and after some advice from friends, I am taken a brief hiatus during the month of December. Hopefully there will be a bit of rest during the month, but mostly it is time for me to take some time to rethink my path. So, with that in mind I am providing just the month’s highlights (New Moon, First Quarter Moon, etc.). I expect to be back the first week of January and I want to take the time to thank you for following me on this online adventure of mine. May your holidays be full of all things good and your 2016 dawn bright and beautiful. Namaste!   Last Quarter Moon, 2 December 2015; 11:40 PST, 10 degrees of Virgo New Moon, 11 December 2015; 2:29 AM PST, 19 degrees of Sagittarius First Quarter Moon, 18 December 2015; 7:14 AM PST, 26 degrees of Pisces Mercury enters its next Mercury retrograde shadow Winter Solstice; 21 December 2015; 8:49 PM PST, Sun enters Capricorn Full Moon, 25 December 2015; 3:11 AM PST, 3 degrees of Cancer See you in the New Year!
